It’s officially fall. The kids are settled back into the school routine, the weather is getting a little bit cooler and the leaves are doing their yearly change. If you missed out on getting away in your Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep or Ram back when the temperatures were sizzling over the summer, now’s the time to change that.

- Ottertoberfest- Love Otters? Love October? Who doesn’t! The kids can learn all about the North American River Otter while you enjoy the biergarten or just some good bratwurst and potato salad at the St Louis Zoo. Admission is free.
- Apple Picking- A quick drive outside the city will give you the opportunity to pick your own apples. Check out one of Eckert’s farms for some bonfire, corn maze and 70-foot-slide fun. If you’re feeling really adventurous, convert those apples into a pie when you get home!
- Leaf Tour- If you’re a fan of nature or at least the fall colors, now’s the perfect time to spot the changing leaves in action. Check out the Missouri Department of Conservation website to find just where and when the leaves should change.
